Liposofer Forte ® Drops

Iron plays a vital role in the growth and development of infants and children, as well as in red blood cell production. Long-term deficiency can lead to anemia, impaired growth, and disrupted development of the nervous system in children.

In many individuals, especially children, taking iron supplements may cause digestive issues, an unpleasant metallic taste, refusal to take the supplement, and darkening of the gums and teeth. These factors often concern parents and make iron supplementation challenging.

**Lipozopher Forte®** is a 30-mL oral suspension drop with a pleasant toffee flavor.

Due to the liposomal iron formulation in this product, it does not cause digestive issues, gum and tooth darkening, or absorption interference with dairy products and other medications. It is also gluten-free. Lipozoferr Forte is effective in treating iron-deficiency anemia and preventing severe iron deficiency in children.

Therapeutic effects and pharmacology:

The most common cause of anemia is iron deficiency. Iron is a mineral that the body needs for growth and development. The body uses iron to make hemoglobin (a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to all parts of the body) and myoglobin (a protein that delivers oxygen to the muscles). Iron is also needed for the production of certain hormones. In infants who are breastfed, the body’s need for iron increases after 4 months of age. Therefore, in addition to breast milk, iron supplements should be used to meet the child’s iron requirements. Long-term iron deficiency can lead to problems in physical growth, neurological development, mental and cognitive function, behavior, and memory in children.

Side effects:

Common gastrointestinal side effects of iron include abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. In this product, due to the encapsulation of iron ions within a liposomal structure and the lack of direct contact between iron ions and the body’s internal surfaces, gastrointestinal side effects are minimized.

Drug interactions:

Unlike other iron products, due to its liposomal nature, this formulation does not interact with medications such as antacids, H2 receptor blockers, or proton pump inhibitors. Therefore, maintaining a minimum 2-hour interval between doses is not necessary.
Liposomal iron has fewer food interactions and can be consumed with dairy products.

Precautions and warnings:

People with normal iron levels should not use iron supplements on a long-term basis. In premature infants with low vitamin E levels, consult a physician before use. To ensure accurate and correct dosing, use the graduated dropper provided inside the package. Accidental or excessive intake of iron may cause poisoning in children; therefore, do not exceed the prescribed dose and keep out of reach of children.

Contraindications:

Do not use this product if you have hemochromatosis, hemosiderosis, or hemolytic anemia, or if you have a history of hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients of this product.

Storage conditions:

Store at a temperature below 25°C and away from light, moisture, frost and the reach of children.
