Magnetra ®

Magnesium is one of the most abundant and essential minerals in the body. It plays a key role in maintaining muscle health, supporting normal nerve function, and promoting heart health. Additionally, magnesium is involved in the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, in development and the maintenance of bone and dental health, tissue formation, ionic transport across cell membranes, maintaining electrical potentials, nerve-muscle junction signaling, and proper muscle function.

مگنترا® The sachet contains lemon-flavored magnesium orally dissolvable granules.

Due to the orally dissolving granule powder in this product, there is no need to drink water, making it convenient and appealing to use. This formulation also provides rapid absorption and effectiveness. Magnetra is effective in relieving muscle cramps and pain caused by magnesium deficiency, migraine headaches, and in supplying magnesium to the body.

Therapeutic effects and pharmacology:

Magnesium is one of the essential minerals in the body, acting as a cofactor in over 300 enzymatic systems. It is required for the formation of cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate), the transport of calcium and magnesium ions across cell membranes, nerve signal conduction at the neuromuscular junction, proper muscle function (muscle contraction), metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins, and fats, tissue formation and development, and the maintenance of bones and teeth. Magnesium regulates various biochemical reactions in the body, including protein synthesis, nerve and muscle function, blood sugar control, and blood pressure.
Magnesium has inhibitory effects on nerves and smooth muscles, leading to analgesic effects and reducing symptoms associated with migraines, post-surgical pain, neuropathic pain (pain resulting from nerve damage), the rare syndrome erythromelalgia (a peripheral vascular disorder causing burning, pain, and increased redness of the feet), Raynaud's phenomenon (constriction of small arteries in the extremities, reducing blood flow to the hands and feet, resulting in coldness, numbness, or pale/blue fingers), and other vascular disorders and pain syndromes.

Side effects:

Overall, it is well tolerated at the recommended dose. Common side effects include gastrointestinal discomfort, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Excessive intake can cause symptoms of hypermagnesemia, including low blood pressure, drowsiness, confusion, decreased tendon reflexes, muscle weakness, respiratory depression, and cardiac arrhythmia.

Drug interactions:

When taking Magnetra concurrently with quinolone antibiotics (ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, ofloxacin), tetracycline antibiotics (doxycycline, minocycline), or bisphosphonates (alendronate, etidronate), maintain at least a 2-hour interval between doses. Additionally, if you are using potassium-sparing diuretics such as amiloride and spironolactone, aminoglycoside antibiotics (gentamicin, streptomycin, amikacin), or calcium channel blockers (nifedipine, amlodipine), consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this product.

Precautions and warnings:

If you have kidney disease or failure, or if magnesium is restricted in your diet, consult your doctor before use.
Patients with neuromuscular disorders such as myasthenia gravis should be closely monitored if magnesium is prescribed.
Intake of magnesium above the recommended daily allowance should only be done under a doctor's supervision.
